Art enthusiasts should be sure not to miss out on a display by I Ketut Teler during their holidays in Seminyak over the coming weeks.

The series of solo paintings are available to see together in an exhibition entitled Welcome to Paradise, which opened to the public for the first time in early January 2011 and will close on February 8th.

Travellers keen to see Teler's latest project should head to the lobby area of the Maya Ubud venue, which is just a short drive away from the popular resort of Seminyak.

Some 22 of his works will be on show, with each designed to highlight various forms of cultural adaptation and the sharing of traditional ideas, also known as acculturation.

The artist was born in the Balinese village of Bangli in 1971 and graduated from Denpasar's Institute of Fine Arts, since when he has been involved in exhibitions held at galleries and museums across Indonesia.

He pursues Mahayana Buddhism, explaining: "Through the middle way, I want to search and find the essence of dualism, which is able to bring about an attitude of tolerance and harmony in life."

Guests staying in Seminyak hotels can get to Ubud by travelling north past Denpasar, through communities such as Batubalan and Lodtunduh.

For more information on this event, visit the Maya Ubud website.
