LateRooms.com - Australian Chamber Orchestra and Teddy Tahu Rhodes to Play Brisbane

Cheap hotels in the Brisbane area are set to be in demand next month when the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) and Teddy Tahu Rhodes come to town.

Rhodes, described by the concert organisers as Australia's favourite bass baritone, is scheduled to take to the stage accompanied by the ACO at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (Qpac) on February 14th 2011.

With the show coinciding with Valentine's Day, loved-up couples - including those staying at hotels in Brisbane - are likely to make up a significant portion of the audience.

Ticketholders will get to see Rhodes take on the role of Beethoven's hero in An die ferne Geliebte - translated as To the Distant Beloved - for what is typically considered to be the world's first-ever true song cycle.

Other highlights include the ACO's performance of Mahler's Adagietto, best known as featuring in 1971 film Death in Venice starring Dirk Bogarde.

A new arrangement of String Quartet Number 3 by Mendelssohn, which the venue describes as "breezy and vigorous", will also feature.

Cheap hotels Brisbane customers keen to attend the concert can get hold of tickets for between AU$48 and AU$102.50 plus booking fee. Proceedings are scheduled to get underway at 20:00 local time.

For more information on this event, visit the Qpac website or contact the venue on (+61) 7 3840 7444.
