Based around lead vocalist and guitarist Ben Bridwell, the group formed in Seattle and released their debut LP Everything All the Time in 2006. Sophomore effort Cease to Begin emerged the following year and was similarly well-received, with the band appearing at the UK's famous Glastonbury Festival in the summer of 2008. After a line-up change and a switch from cult independent label Sub Pop to a major record company, Band of Horses released Infinite Arms in May this year. The Guardian's Dave Simpson was just one of the critics who heaped praise on the album, describing it as a blend of "classic Americana" and influences from the great British songwriters. "A much bigger, more spacious sound has been achieved without sacrificing intimacy or their old elemental sense of wonder," he commented.
