Classical music fans should book a date with the Prague
Symphony Orchestra on their next visit to the Czech capital.
The famous ensemble is due to perform at Municipal House on Wednesday February 2nd,
giving people staying in Prague hotels an opportunity to enjoy a concert in one of the city's most famous
venues.
Founded in the 1930s, the orchestra has played at prestigious concert halls around
the world and remains one of the nation's most famous cultural institutions.
People heading to the February 2nd concert will hear music by Dvorak, Tchaikovsky
and Borodin, with conductor Petr Altrichter and piano soloist Fazil Say on stage.
The orchestra is set to perform in the Smetana Hall, which is the main concert space
at Municipal House.
Located in the heart of the city, the building is a major civic landmark and one of
the most celebrated Art Nouveau structures in Prague.
Inside the Municipal House, visitors can see murals and paintings on a Czech
nationalist theme by several leading artists of the early 20th century, including
Jan Preisler, Max Svabinsky and Alfons Mucha.
Tickets for the concert are priced between 100 and 600 Czech koruna (£3.40 and £20.45).
