LateRooms.com - Die Fledermaus Coming to Perth for Opera in the Park

Released on: January 06, 2011, 07:26 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

Die Fledermaus will be performed in Perth next month as part of the city's ongoing Opera in the Park spectacle.

The Supreme Court Gardens are sure to be full of people staying in cheap Perth hotels at the time of the free show, which has been created by the West Australian Opera.

Described by the City of Perth Council as a "comedic masterpiece", the famous operetta charts the story of Eisenstein, who is set to be imprisoned for eight days after insulting an official.

Falke, his best friend, convinces him to spend his final night of freedom at a ball thrown by Prince Orlovsky, but what sounds like an evening of harmless fun turns out to be anything but.

The show will take to the stage on February 5th 2011 at 20:00 local time and has been highly recommended by the council. In words that could inspire people staying in Perth hotels to attend, the body described it as "a magical and enchanting night of entertainment".

This is the latest opportunity that last minute hotels customers have had to enjoy Opera in the Park. Previous editions have involved productions such as Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado, which was performed in the gardens last March.

For more information on this event, visit the City of Perth Council website or contact the organisers on (+61) 8 9278 8901.
