LateRooms.com - PJ Harvey to Play Two Nights in Berlin

Released on: January 17, 2011, 7:01 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

Berlin hotels can expect to welcome plenty of PJ Harvey fans next month, as the British singer-songwriter is set to play two concerts in the city.

The gigs at the Admiralspalast venue on Monday February 21st and Tuesday February 22nd will give admirers of the Dorset-born musician a chance to hear songs from her new album, Let England Shake.

Due for release on February 14th, the record is Harvey's eighth studio effort and her first since White Chalk in 2007.

With new song The Words That Maketh Murder set to be released as a single before the album hits the stores, anticipation among fans of the 41-year-old artist is already running high.

Harvey is known for an ability to reinvent herself and a willingness to embrace fresh ideas, which makes each new album a particularly exciting event for devotees.

She received the Mercury Prize for her 2001 LP Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea, which featured vocal contributions from Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke.

Her other releases have garnered a similar level of critical praise, with Rid of Me and To Bring You My Love both appearing in Rolling Stone's 500 greatest albums of all time list.

"Harvey sings the blues like Nick Cave sings gospel: with more distortion, sex and murder than you remember," the magazine commented.

Tickets for the Berlin concerts are available to buy online from €49.55 (£41.60), with the music due to begin at 19:00 local time.
