Beginning at 18:00 local time on Saturday January 29th, this popular event sees museums across the city open their doors late into the night and unveil special exhibitions. More than 350 installations in 69 different venues are on the programme for the first of 2011's two Long Nights, with tickets priced at just €15 (£12.90) and €10 for concessions. Children under 12 will be admitted for free if accompanied by an adult. The event has been taking place twice a year since 1997 and continues to draw large crowds, including local culture vultures and people spending time in Berlin hotels.
