LateRooms.com - Get A Sense of Perspective in Liverpool

Released on: February 28, 2011, 05:54 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

The Liverpool Tate's A Sense of Perspective exhibition will include UK premieres for several pieces of artwork.

Since purchasing Experiencing Cinema by Rosangela Renno, the art institution has yet to publicly display the installation.

The show uses found images and a steam curtain to create a projection that flickers on, then gradually dissolves.

A Sense of Perspective involves many more exhibits that play with the idea of "betweenness" as an abstract concept, according to the venue.

"This display challenges our tendency to define and limit our understanding and focuses on works which highlight cultural, generational and artistic difference," explained the organisers.

Zineb Sedira and Sarah Jones are among the other artists set to feature in the collection, which includes photography, sculpture and video installations.

Tate Liverpool has worked alongside Tate Britain, Le Centre Pompidou and Kiasma to create the show.

The exhibition is open from April 1st to June 5th between 10:00 and 17:50 BST every day. It is free to enter.

Art enthusiasts on the lookout for Liverpool hotels close to the venue can browse a wide selection of accommodation on LateRooms.com, including the Adelphi Hotel Liverpool.

Find out more information about the show at www.tate.org.uk/liverpool/ or by calling the Tate Liverpool on 015 1702 7400.
