Some of the best performers in the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (HKCO) are to show off their abilities at a special concert.

The HKCO4U series was launched last year, playing to full houses keen to see the latest musical talent.

It is returning later this month, with recitals given by Tung Hiu-lo and Lu Yunxia.

The concert will be held on March 26th, starting at 16:30 local time in the Hong Kong City Hall Recital Hall.

Tickets for the event cost HK$180 (£14.20).

Audience members can expect to hear arrangements of pieces such as A Spray of Flowers, A Henan Ditty and Scenes of Grassland.

Tung Hiu-lo was trained in the strings department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, becoming the youngest-ever section leader in the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra after graduating.

She joined the HKCO in 2001 and was appointed gehu principal in 2006.

Lu Yunxia plays the erhu and in January 2010 premiered Theatrical Colours, written by composer and conductor Liu Wenjin, at The Great Wall Capriccio concert to high acclaim.

Concert-goers can find Hong Kong hotels at AsiaRooms.com, including the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, which is located in the heart of the city.
