The 13th International Choir Competition & Festival Budapest will be held 17-21 April 2011. The event will see vocal enthusiasts coming to Budapest, Hungary, to enjoy fine examples of singing choirs from around the world.

The festival is sponsored by INTERKULTUR, an organization that aims to bring people of all cultural backgrounds together in collaborative efforts that promote peaceful interactions through song.

Organised by competition director Günter Titsch, the festival is an ideal opportunity to enjoy the numerous offerings of Budapest, and top-quality choir demonstrations, all during a single event.

The 13th International Choir Competition & Festival Budapest continues to draw from the participants shared love of choral music to help facilitate beneficial interactions. Festival organizers believe that events such as these are responsible for laying the foundation that breaks down cultural and ideological boundaries that often exist in other scenarios.

INTERKULTUR is also well known for its World Choir Council. This one-of-a-kind gathering of vocalists features the talents of representatives from over 70 countries, performing in a collaborative effort centred upon music creation. Additionally, in an effort to stay faithful to past traditions, the 13th International Choir Competition & Festival Budapest will begin with an opening ceremony that is highlighted by a symphony concert.
