Hotels-Paris.co.uk - Stained Glass in Paris in the 19th Century to Open Soon

Released on: March 10, 2011, 09:24 am
Author: Hotels Paris Ltd
Industry: Travel

The Musee Carnavalet is set to open a new exhibition entitled Stained Glass in Paris in the 19th Century this month.

Running from March 29th to June 12th 2011, the free installation will show people how the art form experienced a revival during the 1800s in the capital and across France as a whole.

More than 40 drawings of pieces by Propser Lafaye and Gaspard Gsell will be on display.

The two glassmakers were widely acclaimed for their work in the 19th century on buildings such as Saint-Clotilde, Saint-Eustache and Saint-Gervais.

In addition to the sketches, visitors can also view the gallery's permanent collection, which explores how Paris has changed since the days of the French revolution.

The venue is open from 10:00 to 18:00 local time every day except Monday, when it is closed.

Anyone taking the Metro to the museum should alight at Saint Paul Chemin Vert.

The Musee Carnavalet is housed in two mansions built in the 11th and 17th centuries, with a gallery connecting them.

If art enthusiasts want to find 4 star hotels in Paris, they can utilise Hotels-Paris.co.uk to find accommodation in a variety of areas, including Le Marais.

Further information is available by calling the venue on +33 01 4459 5858 or visiting www.carnavalet.paris.fr.
