LateRooms.com - Check Out From Renaissance Collections to French Embassy in Rome

Released on: March 08, 2011, 8:19 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

A rare opportunity to explore the Palazzo Farnese is currently open to travellers in Rome, as the building is hosting an installation called From Renaissance Collections to French Embassy.

About 150 works of art from European and American institutions are being showcased at the complex, but the opportunity to marvel at the actual venue is not to be missed.

The Palazzo Farnese is not normally open to the public, making this a unique opportunity to see the inside of an iconic building from the Roman renaissance period.

Built in the 16th century, the palace was initially designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Younger, but the artist Michelangelo led the plans for the third storey of the venue.

The exhibition will be on display at the Palazzo Farnese until April 27th 2011.

Admission costs €12 (£10.30) from Monday to Friday and €15 at weekends.

The building is open from 09:00 to 19:00 local time on Monday and Wednesday and 09:00 to 21:00 from Thursday to Sunday. It is closed on Tuesday.

LateRooms.com features a list of 5 star hotels in Rome that could appeal to art enthusiasts, with the website recommending accommodation such as the Sheraton Roma Rome.

Find out more about the exhibition at www.mostrapalazzofarnese.it/it/index.html.
