The Adelaide International Cello Festival (AICF) will offer
visitors and residents of the city the chance to listen to some of the
finest local musicians.
It takes place from April 1st to 10th, aiming to showcase the Adelaide Symphony
Orchestra and some of the best young international artists around at the moment,
such as Janis Laurs, David Geringas and Li Wei Qin.
Gary Carpenter and David Kidane are two of the composers also taking part in the
event, with Martin Butler and Keith Crellin on conducting duty.
The AICF Pegdagogy and Cello Making package, which includes access to all lectures,
presentations, the cello-making challenge, junior cello concerts and master classes,
will cost AU$100.
For those determined to see as many recitals as possible, AU$250 buys the AICF
Concert package.
This guarantees access to everything apart from the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and
Elder Hall lunchtime concerts.
The Elder Conservatorium of Music will be the location for the majority of the
shows, while recitals and master classes will take place at Elder Hall.
Classical music fans looking to book Adelaide hotels and enjoy the bill at the AICF can find a large selection of local accommodation at LateRooms.com.
