LateRooms.com - See Dave Spikey During a Lake District Visit

Released on: March 15, 2011, 7:04 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

Dave Spikey brings his new stand-up show to The Forum in Barrow-in-Furness next month.

The Farnworth-born comedian and writer will unveil Words Don't Come Easy at the Cumbrian venue on Friday April 1st.

According to Spikey, his latest routine takes a look at everyday situations in which people struggle to articulate themselves through speech.

It was inspired by the performer's interest in the vagaries of the English language and audience reactions to his acclaimed Best Medicine tour.

Spikey will be familiar to fans of TV comedy, as he co-wrote and starred alongside Peter Kay and Neil Fitzmaurice in the hit Channel 4 series Phoenix Nights.

He has also appeared as a team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats and published his first book, He Took My Kidney Then Broke My Heart, in 2009.

Tickets for the Barrow show, which is due to begin at 20:00 BST, are priced at £17.

Members of the audience can expect an analysis of surreal song lyrics, hospital speak and failed chat-up lines, all delivered with Spikey's trademark down-to-earth humour.

Comedy fans may like to consider Lake District accommodation using LateRooms.com, which recommends the Sharrow Bay Hotel Lake District.
