LateRooms.com - See Jazz Star Till Bronner Live in Dusseldorf

Released on: March 1, 2011, 06:17 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

Jazz trumpeter Till Bronner is due to perform at the Philipshalle in Dusseldorf on Saturday March 26th.

One of Germany's most successful musicians in the genre, Bronner is known for his unique approach to jazz, which combines bebop sounds with influences from pop music and old movie soundtracks.

The artist was born in Germany but raised in Rome, where he was inspired by the music of Louis Armstrong and Charlie Parker as a teenager.

In a statement on his official website, he explains: "Hearing bebop for the first time, Charlie Parker; that set the whole thing off for me. I was 13 years old and it was an almost erotic sensation."

Bronner studied the trumpet at the Cologne Music Academy before launching his career, which took off with the release of his debut solo album Generations of Jazz in 1993.

Three years later, he rearranged a selection of old film themes for jazz quartet and classical orchestra on the album German Songs.

The musician has continued to dominate the German jazz scene in recent years, releasing his record LP At the End of the Day in October 2010.

Songs by artists as diverse as The Beatles, David Bowie, The Killers and The Human League were reinterpreted by Bronner for the LP, which was the follow-up to 2008's Rio.

Tickets for Bronner's show in Dusseldorf are available online, priced between€32.68 and €49.96 (£27.30 and £41.80). The performance is due to begin at 20:00 local time.
