One of Turkey's biggest pop stars is set to perform in Dusseldorf on Sunday April 24th.

Tarkan, who was born to Turkish parents in the German town of Alzey, will play the ISS Dome as part of his latest European tour.

The singer is hugely popular in Turkey, but also has a large following in the country of his birth and his appearance in Dusseldorf is sure to attract fans from throughout the surrounding area.

Although one of five German dates on his schedule, it will be Tarkan's only performance in the state of North-Rhine Westphalia this year.

Manfred Kirschstein, head of the ISS Dome, described the concert as a major event.

In a statement, he hailed the 38-year-old vocalist as "a megastar" and added: "We are pleased to present this artist in the state capital."

Tarkan's performances are known for drawing huge crowds in Turkey, where he has also broken records with his album sales.

He released his first LP Yine Sensiz in 1992 and Come Closer, his long-awaited English language debut, emerged in 2006.

The performer's most recent album is Adini Kalbim Yaz, which translates as 'write your name on my heart' and was released in July last year.

Tickets for the Dusseldorf show are priced between €38 and €55 (£32.80 and £47.50).

Doors will open at 18:30 local time and the music is due to begin at 20:30.

Concert-goers can visit LateRooms.com to search for Dusseldorf hotel options, including the Relexa Hotel Ratingen City.
