Mikhail Youzhny of Russia is the reigning champion, having defeated Croatia's Marin Cilic in the final last year. Other previous winners of the tournament include stars such as Ivan Lendl, Thomas Enqvist, Nikolay Davydenko and 16-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer, who triumphed at the event in 2003. Philipp Kohlschreiber was the last German player to taste victory at the BMW Open, beating Youzhny in three sets to claim the title in 2007. Ticket prices for the matches vary, depending on where people choose to sit and the day on which they attend.
