Motor fans should get ready for an action-packed weekend next month as the V8 Supercars series returns to Perth.

The championship did not visit Western Australia in 2010, so locals and travellers alike will be looking to make up for it this time around.

As well as the main event, five supporting categories of vehicles will take part in the Trading Post Perth Challenge.

The Australian Superbike Championships, Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series, Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series and the Touring Car Masters will all see drivers showcasing their ability.

It will be held from April 29th to May 1st at the Barbagallo Raceway.

The track has been in operation since 1967 and it has staged V8 Supercar races since 1997.

There are three different types of ticket; general admission, grandstand and paddock.

All are available from Ticketek and The Pitstop Bookshop, while entry to the paddock is free on April 29th.

General admission vouchers and access to the paddock do not cost anything for children under 12 for the entire event.

Motor sports enthusiasts looking for budget accommodation in the city can find a wide range of Perth hotels at LateRooms.com.au.
