Smooth jazz star Kenny G is heading to south-east Asia towards the end of next month for a show at Manila's Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

The Grammy Award-winning artist, born Kenneth Bruce Gorelick, is the modern age's bestselling instrumental musician, having shifted more than 75 million albums across the world.

He earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records after making full use of circular breathing techniques to play the longest note ever recorded on a saxophone. He set the new benchmark of 45 minutes and 47 seconds in a special performance at New York City's J&R Music World.

The artist rose to fame after early albums G Force and Gravity went platinum in the US.

Heart and Soul, his 13th studio LP, was released in June 2010 and featured collaborations with the likes of R'n'B crooner Robin Thicke.

He is due to take the stage at the PICC's Plenary Hall on May 23rd 2011.

Passes are available for between 1,575 and 6,300 Philippine pesos (£22 and £89).

Jazz lovers looking for accommodation near the venue can visit AsiaRooms.com and choose from a large selection of Makati hotels, including the Heritage Hotel Manila.

It is located around two kilometres from the PICC.
