Top international stars from the world of extreme sports will head to Shanghai later this month for the 2011 Kia X Games Asia.

Among the big names lined up to compete in the competition's 13th edition are seven-time gold medal-winning Canadian skateboarder Pierre-Luc Gagnon and Brazil's Bob Burnquist, who has won the skateboard vert title on seven occasions.

Yasutoko brothers Takeshi and Eito - well known across Asia - have also been named in a line-up that includes almost 200 athletes from more than 30 countries.

The Kia X Games Asia runs from April 29th to May 2nd and is expected to attract a capacity crowd to rival last year's record-breaking attendance of 58,400.

"We look forward to showcasing another exhilarating event to action sport fans in Shanghai," Harvey Davis, vice president of event management at organiser ESPN STAR Sports, said in a statement.

The action takes place at Shanghai's KIC Jiangwan Sports Center in Yangpu District.

Day tickets are priced at 120 Chinese yuan renminbi (£11) for adults and 50 Chinese yuan renminbi for students.

Extreme sports enthusiasts looking for Shanghai hotels near the venue can find a large selection of accommodation in the city at AsiaRooms.com.

One choice, the Salvo Hotel Shanghai, is less than 20 minutes' drive from the stadium.
