AsiaRooms.com – Memories of King Kowloon Retrospective to Open in Hong Kong

Released on: April 25, 2011, 3:40 am
Author: AsiaRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

A retrospective on influential Asian artist Tsang Tsou-choi is set to open at Hong Kong's ArtisTree venue at the end of this month.

The display, entitled Memories of King Kowloon, features around 300 original calligraphic inscriptions created by Tsang, making it the largest collection of his work to date.

It also boasts tributes from 11 local and international artists and 40 students.

The installation is spread over six zones and contains a roadmap that uncovers some of the Hong Kong cityscape used by Tsang for his iconic graffiti-style pieces.

Interviews with other leading cultural and political figures - such as Tanya Chan, Chet Lam and MC Yan - are also featured in the exhibition.

Free guided tours from professional academics are available to give visitors a greater understanding of Tsang's world and the influence he had on Hong Kong's creative scene.

ArtisTree is located at Cornwall House in Swire Island East. It opens from 10:00 to 20:00 local time and no charge is required for admission.

The exhibition runs from April 20th to May 31st 2011.

Culture vultures thinking of booking Hong Kong hotels near the venue can use AsiaRooms.com to choose the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, less than a ten-minute drive from the arts space.
