DirectRooms.com reveals that Zermatt will be a hive of activities this summer as visitors can join Wolli the ram for an abundance of fun.

Running between 27th June and 26th August, Wolli Summer Fun 2011 will consist of a multitude of activities for families and children where visitors can take in the stunning Swiss Alps and its natural attractions.

Adventure seekers can head to the Forest Fun Park to find suspension bridges and zip lines to fly through the trees and be met with a few surprises that lie in wait.

Visitors should also not miss a trip to the glacier palace which is found an incredible 3,883 m.a.s.l. and is the most elevated in the world. Access is gained by firstly travelling up the lift, then through the narrow tunnel of ice lying 15m under the surface of the glacier. People can then walk through to the huge cavernous rooms which contain intricately carved ice sculptures with guides explaining how the palace was created.

Other highlights that people using cheap Zermatt hotels should look into is a visit to the museum to learn about the Matterhorn, one of the Alps’ highest peaks and also one of the most deadly to climb.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: “Zermatt offers so much to do in the summer that the area will be overrun with families and finding places at hotels will become increasingly difficult. Visitors should search online to seek out rooms and also find the best rates.”
