Hotels-London.co.uk – Enjoy Natural Beauty at London's Chelsea Flower Show

Industry: Travel

An unusual exhibition of artwork from a tiny village in Loiret is being displayed at the Musee de la Poste in Paris.

Facteurs Factices shows off the many and varied post boxes in Saint-Martin-d'Abbat, which has become something of a traveller's curiosity due to the elaborate designs of the items.

One of them is made to look like a petrol pump, while another celebrates breakfast-time.

According to the organisers of the display, there are only 1,600 residents in the village, yet there are 220 unique post boxes.

Visitors to the Musee de la Poste can see pictures of these peculiar pieces of art, as well as 15 'sculptures' of postmen and their bikes.

Facteurs Factices will be on show until August 27th 2011 in Rooms 13, 14 and 15 of the venue.

Anyone taking the Metro to the arts space should alight at Montparnasse, Pasteur or Falguiere.

The attraction is open from Monday to Saturday between 10:00 and 18:00 local time. It costs €5 (£4.40) to enter, although there are concessions available.

Hotels-Paris.co.uk offers a range of cheap hotels in Paris that may appeal to art enthusiasts, including several options in the Montparnasse district.

To find out more, visit www.ladressemuseedelaposte.com/ or call the museum on +33 01 4279 2424.
