The Metro Group Marathon attracts a diverse group of athletes each year, with thousands of people lining up to test their running skills in the capital of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is among the quickest and most scenic road races in Germany, as the course runs straight through the city centre and provides competitors with spectacular views of the River Rhine. However, those who confirm their entry before Thursday March 31st will only be charged €60. On the day of the marathon, adult runners traditionally start at 09:30 local time.
