Gomez are set to kick off their latest UK tour with a show at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth this summer.

The performance on Thursday June 9th will give fans a chance to hear songs from the Southport indie band's latest album, which is due for release earlier that week.

Entitled Whatever's On Your Mind, the LP will be the first new material from the five-piece group since 2009's A New Tide.

New single Options has already been released as a download and Gomez have also announced plans for a tour of North America later this year.

The band's line-up is unchanged since they first arrived on the music scene in 1998 with Bring It On, their Mercury Prize-winning debut album.

Ian Ball, Tom Gray and Ben Ottewell take it in turns to share lead vocals, while also playing guitar and keyboards. The trio are joined by Paul Blackburn on bass and drummer Olly Peacock.

Tickets to see the band perform in Bournemouth can be purchased online for £17.50 plus booking fee. Doors are due to open at 19:00 BST.
