LateRooms.com - Ladysmith Black Mambazo to Perform in Cornwall

Released on: April 21, 2011, 3:54 pm
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

Ladysmith Black Mambazo will bring their world-renowned vocal talents to the Hall for Cornwall next month.

Arguably Africa's most famous choral group, the band are due to perform at the Truro venue on Thursday May 26th as part of their current world tour.

Formed by musical director Joseph Shabalala in 1960, Ladysmith achieved global fame after collaborating with US songwriter Paul Simon on his iconic 1986 album Graceland.

The South African group soon had a hit in their own right with their 1987 LP Shaka Zulu, paving the way for many more successful studio recordings and acclaimed performances around the world.

Ladysmith's most recent release was Songs from a Zulu Farm, the first in a trilogy of albums about life in their native country.

Their songs are known for addressing spiritual themes, although Shabalala has said the music is not designed for any specific religious orientation.

Tickets for the Hall for Cornwall performance are available to buy online, priced between £24 and £27.50. The show is due to begin at 19:30 BST.

Fans planning to attend the concert can visit LateRooms.com to browse a wide range of luxury hotels in Cornwall, including the Jamaica Inn Cornwall.
