Country music legend Emmylou Harris is due to make a rare
appearance in Munich this summer.
The 12-time Grammy winner will play at the German city's Philharmonie venue on
Sunday June 5th, giving fans a chance to hear songs from her 40-year career in the
music industry.
Harris is due to release Hard Bargain, her latest studio LP, via Nonesuch Records on
April 26th.
The album features a new composition called The Road, which recalls the time the
songwriter spent playing and recording with her mentor Gram Parsons during the early
1970s.
On her official website, Harris explained the inspiration behind the song.
"I really just told that story the way I see it in my mind," she said.
"Life goes on and unfolds before you, but those people and those events that change
you forever are always with you."
The new album represents a significant departure from the 64-year-old's previous
record, 2008's All I Intended to Be.
While that LP took three years to make and featured guest appearances from the likes
of Dolly Parton and Vince Gill, the singer's latest effort was recorded in just
four weeks.
It was also put together by just three people - Harris, producer Jay Joyce and
multi-instrumentalist Giles Reaves.
"We didn't have the need for anyone else given how versatile Giles and Jay are. We
became our own little family in the studio," the musician explained.
Fans keen to hear tracks from Hard Bargain performed live can head to the Munich
concert, which will be the first of three German dates on Harris's European tour.
Tickets are available in two categories, priced at €77 and €88.50 (£68.20 and £78.40).
LateRooms.com offers a wide range of Munich hotels that should appeal to concert-goers, including the Hotel Leonardo Munich.
