LateRooms.com - New Societe Realiste Project on Show in Paris

Released on: April 28, 2011, 12:39 pm
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

A new exhibition entitled Empire, State, Building is on show in Paris, displaying the talents of the Societe Realiste cooperative.

The installation is on show at the Jeu de Paume until May 8th 2011 and incorporates various aspects of the group's work.

According to the venue, there are three factors of the title to consider.

Firstly is the allusion to the famous Manhattan structure, secondly, the way punctuation can alter meaning and finally, the way a myth can be reduced with the aid of certain symbols.

Societe Realiste, an experimental cooperative that broadly works in the fields of design and social engineering, has submitted a variety of pieces of differing types.

Two of the most important items on show are some of the group's most recent works: 2010's The Fountainhead and Culte de l'Humanitee, which was created this year.

Jeu de Paume costs €8.50 (£7.55) to enter. The building opens from 12:00 to 21:00 local time on Tuesday and 12:00 to 19:00 from Wednesday to Friday. At the weekend, it is accessible from 10:00 to 19:00.

LateRooms.com features a huge range of Paris hotels that may appeal to art enthusiasts, including the Hotel Bastille Paris.

Head to www.jeudepaume.org or call the venue on +33 01 4703 1250 to find out more about the installation.
