LateRooms.com - Norfolk Gets Ready for Crab and Lobster Festival

Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

The Crab and Lobster Festival offers plenty of food and fun in two of north Norfolk's most popular seaside towns.

Taking place in Cromer and Sheringham, it is a three-day celebration of the region's famous seafood and longstanding fishing industry.

Following the success of last year's inaugural event, the festival will return for its second edition on Friday May 20th.

Visitors can look forward to taster sessions, culinary demonstrations and many other special events based on the two local delicacies - crab and lobster.

Mary Kemp, a local chef who runs a cookery school from her Norfolk farmhouse, will show people how to make the most of these crustaceans in the Cookery Theatre.

However, there is much more to the festival than simply food, with a free concert in Cromer's Pavilion Theatre kick-starting the event on Friday night.

The organisers have promised "a great evening of song and light-hearted entertainment", headlined by the Sheringham Shantymen and the Cromer Smugglers.

Other free attractions during the weekend include a seaside arts and crafts market, a classic car rally and a real ale festival.

Holidaymakers planning to attend the event will find a wide range of Norfolk hotels at LateRooms.com, which recommends the George Hotel Norfolk.
