Released in 1978, the LP quickly became a cult classic and was widely praised by critics, who lauded the LP's innovative take on traditional garage rock. It is now frequently cited as one of the most influential recordings in underground rock music. The group have titled their upcoming European tour The Annotated Modern Dance, as the shows will also include the series of early singles released on their own record label, Hearpen.
