Industry: Travel

A collection of Roman ruins have been put on display in Seville and anyone who heads down there before the end of April can get in for free.

The exhibition is held at the Museo Antiquarium Sevilla, which can be found in the basement of the Metropol Parasol in the Plaza de la Encarnacion.

According to the organisers, the ruins contained in the show are some of the most important of their kind in the whole city and were only discovered about 20 years ago.

There is a huge variety of history contained within the 4,500-sq metre exhibition space, with items from several different eras going back to the first century AD.

The remains will be a permanent fixture in the venue, but visitors who arrive from May 2nd onwards will need to pay €2 (£1.75).

Opening hours are from Tuesday to Saturday between 10:00 and 20:00 local time. On Sunday, it closes at 14:00, while the facility is completely shut on Monday.

While in the area, people should be sure to check out the rest of the Metropol Parasol structure, which includes a Sky Cafe and a balcony area with views of the Andalusian city.

LateRooms.com offers keen historians a wide variety of accommodation in Seville to choose from, such as the Hotel Don Paco Seville.
