Featuring a number of collaborations with young vocalist Martina Topley-Bird, his then-girlfriend, the album was a major success and received a nomination for the Mercury Prize. Although some of Tricky's subsequent releases were less well-received by critics, the artist has maintained his fiercely independent stance and desire for creative exploration throughout his career.
