The Australian Chamber Orchestra's (ACO's) new tour, Glittering Frost, is set to call at Adelaide midway through next month.

Lead violinist Richard Tognetti and clarinet player Martin Frost star in the concert, which features the music of Brahms, Copland, Hillborg, Mozart and Ravel.

Among the well-known classical pieces that appear in the show is Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, given a fresh and distinctive makeover for this tour.

New arrangements of Hungarian Dances by Brahms and Ravel's String Quartet also appear in the performance.

Tognetti, who is also the production's artistic director, is full of praise for the talented Frost. In a statement, he said: "No introduction will do justice to Martin Frost. Quite simply, he is the most exciting clarinettist alive."

The ACO will take the stage at the Adelaide Town Hall on May 17th 2011.

Proceedings are scheduled to kick off at 20:00 local time.

Full-price tickets cost between AU$49 and AU$89, although a discounted rate of AU$38 is available for under-30s. Concessions can get in for AU$42.

After playing in Adelaide, the ACO will conclude their tour with shows in Perth, Wollongong and Sydney.

Classical music enthusiasts looking for hotel deals near the venue can find a wide array of Adelaide hotels at LateRooms.com.au.
