AsiaRooms.com - Check Out Portrait of Moscow at Seoul Museum of History

Released on: May 31, 2011, 6:31 am
Author: AsiaRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

Portrait of Moscow has opened at the Seoul Museum of History (SMH), offering visitors a chance to learn about a broad period of Russia's past.

Images in the collection date from modern times all the way back to the late 19th century, with each one providing a snapshot of the political or social context in which it was taken.

There are 80 pictures to view, all of which have been borrowed from the Moscow City Museum (MCM).

Attendees will find the exhibition split into four sections, with one featuring historical images, another looking at scenes from Moscow's Soviet past, the third relating to modern perspectives and the final zone exploring the image of Seoul in the Russian capital.

The display, organised by the MCM and SMH to celebrate an exchange agreement signed last year, will be on show until July 3rd 2011.

It is free to enter the venue, where the opening hours are from 09:00 to 21:00 local time on weekdays and 09:00 to 19:00 at the weekends.

The museum is within walking distance from Gwanghwamun subway station.

AsiaRooms.com offers art enthusiasts a wide array of Seoul hotels that may appeal to them, including options such as the IP Boutique Hotel Itaewon.

Find out more about the exhibition at www.museum.seoul.kr/eng/eh_main.jsp.
