Scottish Premier League (SPL) football club Celtic will head down under again this year on a summer tour of Australia, which will include a much-anticipated clash in Perth.

The British team will play against Perth Glory on July 9th, in addition to matches against Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne Victory on July 2nd and 13th respectively.

Celtic finished as runners-up in the SPL 2010-11 season by just one point, ultimately losing out to fierce local rivals Rangers.

They will be keen to improve ahead of the new campaign and will use games in Australia to fine-tune the team.

It is not the first time the Scottish club have travelled down under; when they played against Brisbane Roar 30,000 supporters turned out to see them.

In a statement, star striker Georgios Samaras suggested the Greeks living in Australia will be hugely excited to see the team play.

He said: "Australia is home to the largest Greek expat population in the world so I'm really looking forward to playing in front of all the Greek football fans."

Tickets for the Perth Glory match at the NIB Stadium go on general sale on Wednesday May 25th.

LateRooms.com.au offers football fans a huge array of last minute accommodation in Perth.
