The Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) will perform their new show, entitled Beethoven's 5th - The Ultimate Adrenaline Rush, on the Gold Coast next month.

As well as Beethoven's classic work, the concert is set to feature Les Preludes by Liszt and Clarinet Concerto in F Minor by Weber.

Critically acclaimed Brisbane musician Paul Dean has been lined up to play clarinet in the production, having previously performed with acts such as the Grainger Quartet, Australian Chamber Orchestra and Tin Alley Quartet.

Throughout his career, Dean has premiered more than 70 pieces that have been either dedicated to or commissioned by him, with notable examples including Clarinet Concertos by Colin Brumby and James Penberthy.

Johannes Fritzsch, the former music director at the Stadtische Buhnen and the Philharmonisches Orchester in Freiburg, will conduct on the night.

The QSO performance will take place at the Gold Coast Arts Centre on May 20th 2011 at 13:00 local time.

Tickets cost AU$45 for adults, AU$39 for concessions and AU$9.50 for students, while groups of ten or more can get in for AU$35 per person.

Beethoven enthusiasts thinking of booking Gold Coast accommodation and watching the concert can find a large selection of cheap accommodation near the Arts Centre at LateRooms.com.au.
