LateRooms.com - Enjoy El Testigo at Madrid's Teatro Infanta Isabel

Released on: May 09, 2011, 10:06 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

El Testigo offers theatre enthusiasts a chance to immerse themselves in flamenco culture during a stay in Madrid.

The translation of the title is 'the witness' and that is in many ways the role that the audience plays in the story of a fictional performer called Miguel Pantalon.

Rafael Alvarez 'El Brujo' plays the central part and uses his acting and musical skill to bring to mind many iconic artists from the world of flamenco.

His character comes from one of the tales in the Fernando Quinones short story collection Nos Han Dejado Solos.

The part of Miguel has been borrowed and used for a flamenco monologue that takes the audience on a journey through many parts of Quinones' world, including his thoughts on gypsy art and possession by one's ancestors.

As well playing the lead role in the production, Alvarez also adapted the story and directs the show.

El Testigo will be staged until June 26th 2011, with tickets ranging from €15 up to €30 (£13.50 to £27).

Performances take place in the evenings from Wednesday to Sunday at different times.

Theatre-goers can find a vast selection of Madrid hotels on LateRooms.com, including city centre options such as the Westin Palace Madrid.

Find out more about the production by visiting www.gruposmedia.com or calling the box office on (+34) 91 521 02 12.
