His character comes from one of the tales in the Fernando Quinones short story collection Nos Han Dejado Solos. The part of Miguel has been borrowed and used for a flamenco monologue that takes the audience on a journey through many parts of Quinones' world, including his thoughts on gypsy art and possession by one's ancestors. As well playing the lead role in the production, Alvarez also adapted the story and directs the show. El Testigo will be staged until June 26th 2011, with tickets ranging from €15 up to €30 (£13.50 to £27).
