LateRooms.com - Fanta Festival Poised to Start in Rome

Released on: May 30, 2011, 9:28 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

Rome will welcome hordes of sci-fi, horror and fantasy film enthusiasts when its Fanta Festival begins on June 9th 2011.

The event showcases the best in these categories of movies and is widely perceived as one of the most important occasions of its type internationally.

Films will be screened at various locations across the city, including the Auditorium Conciliazione and Nuovo Cinema Aquila, with the former venue hosting the prize-giving ceremony.

The full programme has yet to be released by the organisers, but they have announced that Caroline Munro will be a guest.

As well as her work in several Hammer Horror pictures and other B-movies, Munroe's appearance in the James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me gave her a dubious honour.

She played the role of a helicopter pilot who was the first female directly killed by the spy in the franchise.

Ticket prices and screening times will be released closer to the start of the event, which runs until June 19th.

LateRooms.com offers film buffs a wide variety of accommodation including 5 star hotels in Rome. The website recommends luxury options such as the Sheraton Roma Rome.
