The show will be held at the Walker Art Gallery from June 24th to September 24th 2011 and offers visitors a real sense of what was happening at the time. It is part of the Liverpool and the World Exhibition Series, as well as being listed in the City of Radicals programme, which celebrates 100 years of radicalism in the north-west destination. The display being celebrated took place at the Bluecoat, which used to be known as the Liberty Buildings. It happened at a time when there was great social unrest in Liverpool and this new show explores the context in which it appeared and how people reacted to it. In a statement, the organisers remarked: "Featuring works by Van Gogh, Matisse, Gauguin and Signac, this exhibition brings together a mixture of works from the 1911 show and those similar in style and period."
