US rock legends Bon Jovi will arrive in Munich for an open-air show at the Olympic Stadium this summer.

The group are already in the midst of their 14th concert tour Bon Jovi Live, which is due to call at venues across the US and Canada before travelling over to Europe at the start of June.

German fans can see the band perform in Munich on Sunday June 12th before they head on to shows in Scandinavia, Ireland and the UK.

The tour was scheduled to coincide with Bon Jovi's latest Greatest Hits compilation, which was released in two formats in November last year.

Members of the audience can therefore look forward to hearing many of the group's most famous songs, including classic tracks such as Livin' on a Prayer, Wanted Dead or Alive, Bad Medicine and Always.

Formed in New Jersey in the early 1980s, Bon Jovi have sold approximately 130 million records around the world since their self-titled debut LP was released in 1984.

Led by vocalist Jon Bon Jovi, the band are known for their power ballads, anthemic rock hits and the virtuoso technique of guitarist Richie Sambora.

Their most recent studio album is 2009's The Circle, which featured the singles We Weren't Born to Follow and Superman Tonight.

Tickets for Bon Jovi's concert in Munich are available to buy online, priced between €62 and €72 (£55.10 and £64) plus booking fee. Doors will open at 18:00 local time.

Fans considering a stay in Munich hotels can browse a variety of accommodation at LateRooms.com, which recommends the Hotel Leonardo Munich.
