LateRooms.com - See Landscape of Myths and Legends in Prague

Released on: May 26, 2011, 5:54 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

Landscape of Myths and Legends opened in Prague's DOX this week and will be on show until June 30th 2011.

The collection of photography explores the natural wonders of Tibet through artist Jaroslav Poncar's lens.

He has captured how varied and beautiful the country's landscapes are, with the sense of the spiritual and supernatural never far away.

According to the venue, one of the focus points of Poncar's study was the original Tibetan religion of Bon, which existed in the nation before the arrival of Buddhism.

In a statement, the organisers said: "Jaroslav Poncar's panoramic photographs take the viewer to the very heart of the remote and wild landscape of western Tibet, to places around the sacred mountain of Kailash, an area inhabited by nomadic shepherds and their herds."

The museum is open between 10:00 and 18:00 local time from Saturday to Monday and 11:00 to 19:00 from Wednesday to Friday. The arts space is closed on Tuesday.

Tickets cost 180 koruna (£6.50).

Among the other collections available to view is The Sweetness of Death, which is on show until June 16th 2011.

LateRooms.com offers art enthusiasts a huge number of Prague hotels, including the Hotel Tosca Prague.
