The renowned Radisson Blu West of Ireland Championship took place over the Easter bank holiday weekend at its traditional home, County Sligo Golf Club at Rosses Point. The event was sponsored this year by the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Sligo and the overall winner of the championship is 22 year old Paul Cutler from Portstewart after a cut throat final against his longtime friend Alan Dunbar.

With stunning weather over the weekend and many international golfers, this year's West of Ireland Championship also saw locals take to the course including Steffan O'Hara, Gary McDermott, Michael Durcan and Barry Anderson from Co. Sligo Golf Club and Adrian Wynne and Darragh O’Sullivan from Strandhill Golf Club.

One of the finest links courses in Ireland, the highly renowned County Sligo Golf Club is just two miles from the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sligo town centre and is among the top championship courses in Europe. It will be home to a variety of Irish events this year including the Open Week in June and the Interprovincials in July. Last year County Sligo Golf Club and eleven other clubs which together make up North & West Coast Links Golf accepted the award for European Golf Destination of the Year 2011 at the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) annual awards ceremony.
