Using the original libretto and music by the 19th century Italian composer, Finzi Pasca has created a completely separate spectacle that utilises dreamlike atmosphere and elements of clown acting. The director is well-known for such imaginative concepts, having worked on projects with the Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Eloize. Kristin Lewis, Carl Tanner, Dario Solari, Francesco Marsiglia and Simone Piazzola will be the on-stage talent, with the orchestra and choir of the Teatro di San Carlo providing the accompaniment conducted by Donato Renzetti. Composer Leoncavallo was born in Naples and Pagliacci remains his best known work. It tells the tragic story of a jealous husband and his suspicions over the relations kept by his wife. The production will be staged at 21:00 local time on July 17th, 20th, 22nd and 24th. Admission starts from €30 (£26.80) for standard tickets and €20 for concessions.
