LateRooms.com - Ghost The Musical opens in London

Released on: June 29, 2011, 3:15 pm
Author: LateRooms.com
Industry: Travel

London's Piccadilly Theatre is hosting Ghost The Musical, a stage adaptation of the popular 1990s movie.

The original film by Jerry Zucker saw Patrick Swayze's supernatural form communicate with his partner, played by Demi Moore, via Whoopi Goldberg's psychic.

Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy will take on Swayze and Moore's parts in the musical version of the story, while Sharon D Clarke will fill Goldberg's shoes.

As young lovers Sam and Molly, the pair are completely happy together until Sam is murdered.

In a statement, the organisers remarked: "Ghost is a timeless fantasy about the power of love.

"Sam is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next and unable to leave Molly, who he learns is in grave danger."

The production is directed by Matthew Warchus and features special effects by Paul Kieve and music by Dave Stewart of Eurhythmics fame. The script has been adapted by the screenwriter from the original movie, Bruce Joel Rubin.

Tickets start from £25, with performances taking place at 19:30 local time from Monday to Saturday and matinees at 14:30 on Thursday and Saturday.

LateRooms.com offers theatre-goers a vast selection of London hotels to browse, including the Astor Court Hotel London.
