Many of the top players in world golf will be heading to Bavaria for the 23rd BMW International Open later this month.

Taking place at the Eichenried golf club on the outskirts of Munich, the tournament is the only event on the European Tour to be held in Germany.

With members of the European golfing elite such as Martin Kaymer, Paul Casey, Henrik Stenson and Sergio Garcia in the field, fans can look forward to four days of high-quality action.

The tournament begins on Thursday June 23rd and is set to conclude on Sunday June 26th, when the latest winner will add his name to a list of champions that includes Colin Montgomerie, Lee Westwood and Miguel Angel Jimenez.

German star Kaymer can expect plenty of home support when he tees off at Eichenried.

The 26-year-old player triumphed at the tournament in 2008, clinching a breakthrough victory that set him on course to win last summer's US PGA Championship in Wisconsin.

Kaymer, who briefly held the world number one ranking earlier this year, will be hoping to give German golf fans a reminder of his talents by winning the title in Munich once again.

However, he is likely to encounter fierce competition from the likes of Stenson and Casey, who will make it three English champions in a row at the BMW International Open if he emerges victorious.

Liverpool-born Nick Dougherty won the tournament in 2009 and Stockport's David Horsey claimed the title last year.

Various tickets and hospitality packages are available, priced between €30 and €345 (£26.60 and £306.40).
