West End Live returns to London later this month and offers arts enthusiasts the chance to see world-class theatre for free.

Taking place on June 18th and 19th, the event will this year be held in Trafalgar Square. It is normally celebrated in Leicester Square.

More than 500,000 people are expected to attend West End Live, which will feature short pieces from hit shows such as Wicked, War Horse, Legally Blonde and Love Never Dies.

In a statement, the organisers said: "Visitors will witness a spectacular event including showcase performances from over 20 top West End shows, live bands and a wonderful array of interactive exhibits from many of London's top museums, galleries and cultural institutions."

Fans of street performance should also watch out for the acrobats due to mingle with the crowds over the course of the weekend.

The action kicks off on the Saturday at 11:00 BST and runs until 18:00, with Stomp closing the day's activities. The following day, the first show starts at 12:00 and the festival will finish at 18:00.

LateRooms.com recommends a wide variety of London hotels that may appeal to theatre-goers, including the Astor Court Hotel London, which is within walking distance of the West End.
