LateRooms.com - Mecano Musical Bids Farewell in Bilbao

Released on: June 20, 2011, 1:30 am
Author: LateRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

The Mecano musical seen by more than 2.2 million people is carrying out a farewell tour and will stop off in Bilbao for a series of performances.

Running from June 23rd to 26th, the production is entitled Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar, which translates as 'today I cannot get up'.

It tells the story of two friends who dream of being in a successful band and features a host of hits by Mecano, the hugely popular 1980s and 1990s act.

In a statement, the organisers noted: "It was back in the 1980s when several newly-formed bands brought along new ideas and proposals that were frequently more theatrical than musical."

Mecano, made up of Nacho Cano, Jose Maria Cano and Ana Torroja, sold more than 25 million records worldwide, achieving most of their success in Spain, South America, France and Italy.

Tickets cost between €30 and €60 (£26.40 and £52.80). Start times vary, but there is an early-evening and late-evening showing on most days.

The Euskalduna Conference Centre and Hall will host the performances.

If Mecano fans are looking for a hotel in Bilbao, they can use LateRooms.com to check out a broad selection of options, including the Hotel Carlton Bilbao.
