AsiaRooms.com - Rhetoric of the Images Exhibition Begins in Seoul

Released on: July 27, 2011, 3:52 pm
Author: AsiaRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

An exhibition examining the function of imagery in artistic expression has commenced in Seoul this month.

Rhetoric of the Images is taking place at the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA) and is set to run until September 18th 2011, with the intention of showcasing a "new and constructive direction" for Korean art, according to a statement from the organisers.

Featuring the work of 14 established players in the local art scene, the show aims to allow visitors to assess the rhetoric of each image and the methods they use to communicate messages and social meaning to the observer.

Each of the artists whose work is featured in the exhibition has been in the field for several decades, with the evolution of their style and means of expression set to be a key theme of analysis.

To reinforce this point, the various images will be displayed in a way that allows attendees to track the artists' progression chronologically.

The SeMA venue is open from 10:00 until 20:00 local time on weekdays or from 10:00 through to 19:00 on weekends or national holidays, with the last admissions coming one hour before the stated closing time.

Art enthusiasts planning a visit to the museum can book Seoul hotels such as the IP Boutique Hotel Itaewon via AsiaRooms.com.
