From the start of the 1920s up until the 1960s, the Hollywood film industry became known throughout the world, catapulting its actors to worldwide fame.

From July 7th until Ocotber 23rd, the National Portrait Gallery hosts 'Glamour of the Gods: Hollywood Portraits', a fine collection of the pictures that made their faces famous across the globe as Hollywood took off.

Stars like Clark Gable, Marliyn Monroe, Marlon Brando and Audrey Hepburn are names that are still instantly recognisable today, and film fans will surely delight in these stylish prints of these screen icons.

Many of the 70 pictures on display are being shown for the first time, and provide an excellent insight into how portraits were used to market the films that are regarded as classics today.
