Released on: July 06, 2011, 7:44 pm On June 21st, 10 artists will exhibit their work in Kensington's Victoria and Albert Museum in the hope of winning the coveted Jameel Prize, awarded anuually to the best contemporary artist or designer inspired by Islamic traditions. Noor Al Chagani, Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, Bita Ghezelayagh, Babak Golkar, Aisha Khalid, Hayv Kahraman, Rachid Koraichi, Hazem El Mestikawy, Hadieh Shafie, Soody Sharifi are the candidates competing for the £25,000 prize. Their work includes sculpture, mosaics, paintings and embroidery, and each artist will enjoy their work having its own little corner of the West London museum until September 25th.
